I hope you ended up here not because you had to but because you needed to see for yourselves what writing (in) cyberspace for school is all about. If you are not one of us, trainers and trainees at Ovidius University in Constanta, you’re more than welcome to dig for meanings, ideas or simply thoughts we would like to share on this platform.
Basically, this is an exploratory course project whereby trainer and trainees engage in one-to-many, one-to-one or many-to-many computer-mediated but also face-to-face communication on a daring quest to explore how digital technologies are redefining the nature of “writing” and of individuals. First-year students who take this optional class will read about the new genres and rhetorics associated with computer-mediated environments and together we will compose our digital texts.
The topics we’ll discuss are diverse and include but are not limited to the following:
- Introducing writing (in) cyberspace
- Blogging: Content, criteria and background
- Bridging genres in computer-mediated communication
- Blogs and wikis
- Creative linking
- Place and time in computer-mediated communication
- Engaging readership online: Where do I stand?
